Department Functions
This list will help you know where to start if you need to visit us. Functions of the Property Tax and Accounting Department include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collecting property taxes
- Collecting mobile machinery tax and issuing accompanying stickers
- Receiving sales, use, severance, gasoline, and other miscellaneous taxes from the state
- Making bond payments for all general obligation bonds of the schools and other entities levying a bond tax
- Issuing tax releases for mobile home title transfers
- Issuing moving applications for mobile homes
- Distributing tax collections to cities, towns, schools, and special districts
- Performing accounting functions including preparation of financial reports
- Recording, tracking, and redeeming property tax liens on real property
